What is the difference between "Hits" and "Visits" in my SiteStats?

Any request made to your website is a "hit". This would include images, files, scripts and stylesheets. A "visit" can be described as a unique hit. It is usually a series of hits from the same user agent (visitor). Once the visitor has made a request to your website, further requests will not be counted during the same session.
