To add RSS feeds to Mozilla Thunderbird, please follow these steps:
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
- In the top menu go to
Tools --> Account Settings.
- At the bottom of the window, press the Add Account... button.
- From the
Account Wizard window, select the RSS News & Blogs option.
- Next, type a name for your new account. Exmaple:
RSS Feeds and press Next >.
- Press
Finish and close the Account Settings window by pressing OK.
- Your new RSS account will now be listed in the left-hand pane. Right-click on this account and select
Manage Subscriptions...
- From the
RSS Subcriptions window, press the Add button.
- In the
Feed URL field in the Feed Properties window, type or paste the URL of the feed you wish to add. RSS feeds are in XML format and often have the .xml extension. Example: http://www.netlink.ie/news/rss/rss.xml. You can paste the URL by first placing the mouse cursor in the Feed URL field, and then pressing the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard simultaneously.
- Now press the
OK button and wait until the the feed URL is verified and the news feeds have been downloaded.
- When this is done, you can close the
RSS Subscriptions window by clicking on the X in the top-right hand corner of the window.
- You should now be able to read the RSS news feeds by clicking on the
+ (plus) sign beside the RSS account and selecting the relevant feed.
