NetLink Adds Security Features to E-Mail Service
NetLink IT have added some new security features to their e-mail
service. Some of these include local virus scanning and detection of
phishing mail.
File attachments are now scanned by server-side software for virus
signatures and automatically quarantined if viruses or harmful
attachments are detected. Dangerous attachments are stored in
quarantine for a certain period of time before automatically
deleted.
E-mails will also be scanned for harmful HTML or script. Forms,
i-frames and image bugs are automatically disarmed before the mail
reaches the user's inbox. Mail is also scanned for phishing attempts
and users will be warned not to open any suspicious website addresses
which claim to be ones belonging to banks or known services such as
PayPal and eBay.
