International technology industry observers are predicting that Acer Computer will become one of the world's top three PC vendors in 2007.

With laptop shipments alone set to reach over 12 million units in the coming year (an increase of 30 per cent on shipped units in 2006), Acer's global momentum is building and maintaining strong, sustained growth in markets where it has previously seen the least penetration, such as the US.

IDC figures placed Acer as the 2nd largest PC manufacturer across EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) in Q4 2006, and according to IDC senior research analyst, Acer's growth was driven by its competitive desktop offerings and strong laptop sales. Acer held its position as leading laptop vendor in EMEA.
