The first customers of a wireless broadband service in Roundstone were signed up in early March.
The service is being provided by Lighthouse Networks who are bouncing the wireless signal from a signal box on Cregg Hill outside Clifden.
The only stipulation is that you are in a clear line of sight of Cregg Hill, which as we know makes only a small proportion of the village able to receive it at the moment. Anyone in Inishnee facing west or North should have no problems.
Lighthouse Networks will be visiting Roundstone at the end of March and meeting with representatives of the Development Council to attain a suitable site for a small receiver in sight of Cregg Hill, this receiver will make it possible for anyone in line of sight of this new receiver to receive their wireless broadband product. Will keep you up to date on developments...
