The Irish Domain Registry (IEDR) will be making personal .ie domain names (e.g. www.johndoe.ie) available for registration.

Personal domain names will be registered on a first come first serve basis, and it's likely that the only documentation needed in order to register this new category of domain name will be a birth cert, driver’s license or other form of official personal identification.
